What would you do if you are trapped in an environment that you do not wish to be in?

What if you are sick and tired of your job?

What if you feel as if life is passing you by?

Hmm…

Is it possible to take inspired and motivated action to appreciate your present situation and create the life you always dreamed of?

The answer is a resounding YES! That’s the entire premise behind this blog.

But, it’s not that easy.  

  1. You will have to come out of your comfort zone to discover potentials and opportunities waiting for you.  
  2. You have to conquer your fear and take calculated risks.
  3. You have to stay focused and persevere despite the difficulties you will encounter.
  4. You have to work harder, dig deeper, and sacrifice more to attain your ambitions.

It takes heart, passion, and time.

What it takes is Self-Improvement and Personal Growth?

At a certain point in our lives, we stop actively seeking to learn, develop, and grow different areas of our lives. We lose our motivation. We think it’s too late. We feel that we don’t deserve a life filled with excitement. We think this is how life is going to be for us.

But that shouldn’t be the case for you or me.

On the other hand, sometimes we are inspired to makes changes, and sometimes we are forced to make changes in our lives. At any rate, this often leads to a life-long journey of expanding our knowledge and self-understanding, improving skills, and developing new ones.

The concept of self-improvement and personal growth means we consciously seek to improve various aspects of our lives in order to reach our fullest potential and create the life we are destined to have.

In other words, self-improvement and personal growth can help us grow emotionally and mentally, thus becoming a more considerate, loving, and positive person. It can also help us see our mistakes and negative habits which can lead us to correcting and changing them.

Believe it or not, there are endless highly personal benefits to self-improvement and personal growth.

So, I am guessing that you are eager to jump on board to start your self-improvement and personal growth journey.

Not. So. Fast.

CAUTION: Do not try to implement a self-improvement and personal growth plan based merely on a list of things you want to improve. Until you do a thorough assessment of who you are and deal with issues that will hinder your growth,  I promise, you will be disappointed with your lack of progress, thus, becoming apathetic about the notion and importance of self-improvement.

A self-assessment, or as some may refer to it as self-awareness, “is important because it’s a major mechanism influencing personal development, according to Psychology Today.  I talk about this more in one of my newsletters. You may sign-up for my newsletters here.

In the meanwhile, I would like for you to consider some things I have learned from my self-improvement and personal growth journey that will get you prepared for your journey.

First, learn to love your current situation. Remember our slogan, “Celebrate the life you have, while creating the life you want.” See all the positive sides of life. Be enthusiastic. It may not be easy, but nothing is impossible with a strong positive attitude.

Second, realize balance is the key. Dream. Take some positive action to move toward your goals, but take it one-step-at-a-time.  

While you are slowly starting on the long journey to success, be patient and be as enthusiastic as possible.  Do not hurry up too much that you totally forget how to enjoy life. Appreciate the beautiful things you will encounter on the journey.

One day, you will finally arrive where you have always longed for.  But when that day comes, be prepared to start a new journey while helping someone else along the way. Self-improvement and personal growth are a life-long journey.

Thus, stay humble.  Do not criticize others when you see that you are becoming more successful than they are. Try to help them.  Inject your positive aura into their personalities. When you give, you will yield back equal or greater rewards.

Lastly, start your journey with the courage and desire to improve your life. Survive and go through it with persistence, enthusiasm, and positive thinking.  Finish it with a resounding bang of accomplishment and with the desire to help others succeed as well.
